Timeline:
1792: Mary Wollstonecraft published A Vindiction of the Right of Women.

Reflection Statement:
During the Romantic period the fight for the rights of women was a difficult endeavour. Although most women were ready to dispute and fight for their rights, the men of the Romantics society continued to view the women in a traditional sense. The following quotes depict the distinct differences of opinions between the men and women of the Romantic period.

“I wish to persuade women to endeavour to acquire strength, both in mind and body.”
Mary Wollstonecraft, A Vindication of the rights of Woman (1792)

“Women are what they were meant to be; and we wish for no alteration in their bodies or their minds.”
William Hazlitt, The Education of Women (1815)

The fight for the rights of women has been an extensive battle stretched over years and, in minor forms, issues in relation to absolute equality between men and women still exist.
